Hager Partner
Hager Partner AG is a sole proprietorship established in 1984 with offices in Zürich and Berlin. The team has broad project experience in all areas of landscape architecture, with a portfolio ranging from private gardens to city parks and urban neighbourhoods. The aim is to meet upcoming functional problems in a creative way and at the same time to create independent places that convey a strong mood. At the center of the work is the plant, first and foremost the tree. Trees are used as a means of spatial design to create urban places and strong spatial relationships. They are equally important for their ecological potential and for creating places with a high quality of life, because they mediate between people and architecture. The characteristics of public and private spaces are taken up with trees in their intensity, their density, their severity or their playfulness and surprise.
Several residential construction projects were followed by Zellweger Park: The outdoor facilities of both residential buildings by Gigon/Guyer offer as a main attraction an inner courtyard with ten old pine trees and a playable group of sculptures by the artist duo Lutz & Guggisberg. Tree hedges frame the buildings, a small additional playground and large asphalt surfaces complete the play area. Another residential building by Herzog & de Meuron is located between the powerful Rohn building and the near-natural pond. Silver poplars stand in the flower meadow, bringing the imposing buildings even closer to nature as the years go by. As part of a third project with Pfister Schiess Tropeano, several groups of oak trees and a seating area with pine trees were juxtaposed with the industrially shaped outdoor space. In a few years, the three outdoor spaces of these different housing projects, with the newly planted trees, will support the unified park character, which already constitutes the quality of the place with the valuable tree population.
